If more data sets were given, other forecasting techniques such as exponential smoothing and multiplicative seasonality can be used. It is important to determine which appropriate forecasting technique must be used in order to get values that will most likely represent the demand for the succeeding periods. The company uses "gut feel: approach in determining the inventory levels for finished goods. In determining the stocking level to be maintained, factors such as the demand of the products and holding costs incurred in keeping the inventory should be considered. The EOQ for each product type is determined. EOQ is the order size that minimizes total cost. In addition to EOQ, holding costs for each product type under EOQ system are calculated.
